Parkville Colorado Townsite - Ghost town

I stopped to check out the cemetery and discovered the remains of several buildings. Hard to believe this was once the county seat for Summit county. In 1861 it was even in the running to be the territorial capital of Colorado.  The town eventually was swallowed by the mining activity. Hydraulic mining took place in this area and the gravel washed down and buried the town. The county seat was moved to Breckenridge.
