Simla Colorado

Simla Colorado – June 2020

Railroad siding established in 1888 and the town in 1907 by Mike Altman, the salon owner. In 1909 laid out a townsite. Incorporated in 1913. Supposedly named after a town in India. Some old and some new and the town is partially occupied. Watch out for the high-powered mailbox. Looks promising for the old hotel being restored. Beautiful old church and several other buildings in this partially vacated town. The RR used to come to the mill for grain from local farmers but when the RR left the mill became abandoned.
