When I get to a place like this I can’t help but wonder what brought the pioneers to this area. It is a couple miles from a dry lake but no visible signs of water. A look around the place from the middle of what was once a small farming community you can only imagine the hardships.
How did they sustain life? What kept them going?
Apparently there was a post office here for about ten years but all signs of it are long gone.  Maybe  a hundred years ago the land looked different. Maybe the dry lake was once filled with water. One can only imagine. Perhaps it was abandoned because of it’s isolation and lack of ability to sustain crops. It appears that ranching cattle or sheep would do best here today.
