Garfield Cemetery

September 2019

In the forest little remains except the outline of a few graves. No markers are legible, and it appears people have not always respected the place. Garfield was first called Junction City. Fire took most of the town in 1883 but it was rebuilt. Old timers tell of tunneling their way to work and school during the heavy winter snows. The location was also subject to snow slides. This is not the town site, just the forgotten cemetery.
