Georgetown Colorado Townsite – Ghost town

Not Quite a Ghost town, more like a tourist town. I have been here many times starting in the 1980’s. It is now 2015. I have seen some interesting things happen in this town over the years. On my first visit I discovered an antique shop in the upstairs of an old building. It was an amazing place. I went back a few years later and everything was gone. Sold to an investor to resell on ebay. There were numerous shops with historical items scatted throughout town. Mostly replaced today by tourist and gift shops.
These pictures were taken in January of 2005. They show some of main street, a couple hotels, and other buildings throughout town including a view from above the town.
They are also big into ICE RACING on the lake.
