Valdez Alaska (Not a Ghost Town)

Named in 1790 by Spanish explorers this town was the place were a Klondike scam deceived many prospectors. A steamship company claimed this to be the starting point of an easier route to the Klondike Gold fields…(( NOT)).
There were shoot outs, earthquakes, and oil spills but the town has survived.
