- This was the last of the sites I planned to visit on this December day. I must admit I liked this stop the best. I wish I had gotten permission to go onto the site as it looks interesting from the road. But being private property, I stayed on the road. Maybe next time. Named after James Wade Gault a local homesteader. Post office on and off from 1888 to 1916. The school closed in 1918 and the town evaporated along with the dust bowl.
