Yes, you can see what happens with a small avalanche. Sort of removes the evidence of a town. Hard to believe there was a stamp mill here unless you search and find the rock retaining walls etc. Once had a Post Office 1882-1884 and RR station. It grew until 1887 with a population never over 50, it was located near the Columbus mine. The post office closed in 1884 and a snow slide finished off the town. A recent slide is shown in one of the photos.
Apparently, the deer thought I was okay as after he spotted me, he went back to grazing.
