- Talk about in the middle of nowhere with nothing around within miles. This is it. I could almost hear the young children playfully enjoying recess at this abandon school. The blackboards are still hanging but not for long. Rattlesnake Buttes was a ranch Post Office and moved numerous times. The schoolhouse is all that is left to remember.
